Respuesta sexual masculina en hombres entre 30 y 64 años que padecen de diabetes mellitus tipo 2 y/o hipertensión arterial compensada, pertenecientes a la región de los lagos el año 2022

Abstract

La presente investigación busca visibilizar la respuesta sexual en hombres cisgénero entre 30 a 64 años que residen en la región de Los Lagos y que padecen Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 y/o Hipertensión Arterial compensada por medio de un cuestionario sociodemográfico de elaboración propia que consta de 14 preguntas más una encuesta validada en Chile denominada Índice Internacional de Función Eréctil , el cual se compone de 15 preguntas orientadas a los dominios de la respuesta sexual (deseo, excitación, orgasmo, satisfacción), debido a los escasos estudios realizados en Chile y a nivel internacional. Por otro lado, se le otorga importancia al elevado índice de las Enfermedades Crónicas No Transmisibles en Chile y la implicancia que tienen estas enfermedades en la respuesta sexual masculina. Objetivo: Analizar la respuesta sexual en hombres entre 30 y 64 años que padecen de Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 y/o Hipertensión Arterial compensada en la Región de Los Lagos durante el año 2022. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio con diseño cuantitativo y descriptivo. Los participantes fueron 82 personas de género masculino que residen en la Región de Los Lagos, con edades entre 30-64 años y que, además, estaban diagnosticados con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, Hipertensión Arterial o ambas enfermedades. Se utilizan dos instrumentos de evaluación, un cuestionario sociodemográfico y un instrumento titulado Índice Internacional de Función Eréctil (IIEF) validado en población chilena en cual evaluó cuatro dominios de la respuesta sexual: deseo, excitación, orgasmo y satisfacción. Resultados: A partir de los datos obtenidos se demostró que el dominio de la excitación es el menos afectado, debido a que presenta respuestas positivas en un 100% para DM2, 100% para HTA y 90% para ambas enfermedades, seguido por el dominio de orgasmo en un 72,4% para DM2, 84,8% para HTA y 80% para ambas enfermedades y luego el dominio de satisfacción en un 69% para DM2, 94% para HTA y 65% para ambas enfermedades. Por otro lado, el dominio que más se demostró afectado fue el del deseo con un 58,6% para DM2, 63,6% para HTA y 50% para ambas enfermedades. No obstante, este valor no es estadísticamente significativo para esta investigación. Conclusión: A partir de los resultados obtenidos de la investigación se comprobó que la respuesta sexual de los hombres cisgénero entre 30 y 64 años que padecen Diabetes Mellitus 2 y/o Hipertensión Arterial compensada es positiva.

The present study has the objective of shining a light on the sexual response in cis men from 30 to 64 years old who live in the Los Lagos District and who have type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or arterial hypertension through a sociodemographic questionnaire made by the researchers which consisted of 14 questions plus a survey previously validated in Chile called International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) , which contains 15 questions related to the domains of Sexual Response (desire, arousal, orgasm, satisfaction), due to the lacking amount of studies regarding this topic both in Chile and world-wide. On the other hand, the high levels of noncommunicable chronic diseases and their impact on male sexual response are taken into account. Objective: To analyze the sexual response in men from 30 to 64 years old who have type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or arterial hypertension, and live in the Los Lagos district during the year 2022. Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive study took place. The participants were 82 men who lived in the Los Lagos District and were from 30 to 64 years old, who were also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, or both. Two instruments were used to evaluate the study, a sociodemographic questionnaire and an instrument called International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) , which was validated by Chilean population and evaluated the four domains of sexual response: Desire, arousal, orgasm and satisfaction. Results: Based on the results obtained and the organization that took place, the domain with the highest answer level for all interviewed men was arousal, obtaining 100% positive responses for DM2, 100% for HTA and 90% for both diseases, followed by orgasm, with a 72,4% for DM2, 84,8% for HTA and 80% for both, and satisfaction, presenting 69% for DM2, 94% for HTA and 65% for both diseases. On the other hand, desire was the most affected domain with 58,6% for DM2, 63,6% for HTA and 50% for both. Nevertheless, this data is not statistically significant for the present investigation. Conclusion: From the gathered data, the investigation ascertained that sexual response in cis men from 30 to 64 years old and who have type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or arterial hypertension is positive.
